It seems like you're almost there already. Is there any mention of the drive in your 'dmesg' output? I expect there would be, since camcontrol thinks the drive is sa0. Do /dev/sa0, /dev/nsa0, /dev/esa0 (and the /dev/r*sa0 forms of these) exist? They were probably created at install time, but if not, 'cd /dev; ./MAKEDEV sa0' should create them for you. What does 'mt -f /dev/sa0 status' say? IME, modulo the cabling and termination magic that can bite you on any system, SCSI stuff tends to Just Work.
