Greetings all, I'm about to buy a DVD-ROM drive for the lovely new AthlonXP box I've just put together :-) Much as I'd like to have a SCSI drive in there, it's hard to justify spending 30% more on something that's mostly just going to be used as a big CD-ROM drive...so I figure I might as well just get an ATAPI drive. Are there any gotchas that I should be aware of with this plan? A Google through the archives didn't turn up anything negative in the last year, so I guess not, but I'd like to be sure. Any particular models to crave or avoid? Pioneer drives are pretty widely available here and seem to have a good reputation... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ even do one pre-flashed for region-free operation.
