I think freebsd.org's "spam policy" is arbitrary and counter- productive. I got bitten by it, because of an obscure rule that blocked me not only from mailing the lists, but even prevented me from mailing postmaster@freebsd.org. That "anti-spam" rule was matching on a characteristic of my outgoing messages that has never caused me a single problem posting to dozens of mailing lists over the last 7 years or so. Poorly implemented and arbitrary "anti-spam" blocking is worse than none at all, and we will continue to see innocent people getting unnecessarily inconvenienced as a result. Meanwhile, if messages like the following are any indication, these "anti-spam" measures aren't even particularly effective for their primary purpose.
