The other day I installed openssh-portable-3.3p1. It ran quite nicely, apparently including privilege separation and compression. that is to say I could see that processes with reduced privileges were being run, and connectionswith 'ssh -v' worked and reported that compression was being used. Now I install openssh-portable-3.4p1 and when I start the daemon it tells me: This platform does not support both privilege separation and compression Compression disabled Is this simply a problem with the way the configuration works itself out, or is there a real problem with supporting compression?
