I use a DVD burner for backups, and I usually forget to turn it on when I boot my FBSD box. Turning it on and rebooting isn't a big deal, but is there a way to get FBSD to see the drive without rebooting? Is there a process that can be reset or a command that tells FBSD that the drive exists? FreeBSD 4.4, external DVD-RAM drive.
