Also, is the only problem these messages or is functionality broken?  I
see these messages too:
acpi0: <IBM    TP-1A   > on motherboard
    ACPI-0438: *** Error: Looking up [\\_OS_] in namespace, AE_NOT_FOUND
    ACPI-1287: *** Error: Method execution failed [\\_SB_._INI] (Node 0xc11c07a0), AE_NOT_FOUND

But they are actually an improvement for me as I get these messages instead
when I have that patch applied:
