This is related to previous e-mail referred to in the header of this msg. The previous msg contains my custom kernel and dmesg editted to show where the hang is. I'm experiencing this hang only when compiling ULE into that kernel (4BSD does not hang). At the point of the hang, I broke into debug manually and hand-copied the following: [...bootup console stuff...] cd0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present - tray closed [it hangs right here, then I mashed Ctrl+Alt+Esc] Debugger("manual escape to debugger") Stopped at Debugger_0x54: xchgl %ebx,in_Debugger.0 db> trace Debugger(c081fbb6,4,1,0,1) at Debugger+0x54 scgetc(c0905aa0,2,0,c0899940,c37f9480) at scgetc+0x45e sckbdevent(c08ef8a0,0,c0905aa0,8,c07fe0dc) at sckbdevent+0x1e0 atkbd_intr(c08ef8a0,0,d27a9d10,c05a50c2,c08ef8a0) at atkbd_intr+0x2c atkbd_isa_intr(c08ef8a0,0,c07fe0dc,222,c05a4f30) at atkbd_isa_intr+0x21 ithread_loop(c1757c80,d27a9d48,c07fdf56,317,0) at ithread_loop+0x192 fork_exit(c05a4f30,c1757c80,d27a9d48) at fork_exit+0xcf fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x8 --- trap 0x1, eip=0, esp = 0xd27a9d7c, ebp = 0 --- db> reset If someone could help or give me a tip or two, I'd appreciate it. I don't have any other equipment to hook up for remote debugging. :( Thank you, -- Paul Seniura System Specialist State of Okla. D.O.T.
