[please honour Mail-Followup-To:] Replying to my self to let you know I have finished extracting all the information I can think of. At http://biaix.org/pk/debug/vinum/ (mind the trailing slash) you'll find the partition tables, disklabels and vinum on-disk configuration for all drives, as well as the output of 'vinum list'. The reason for the missing slice letter in the devices' names is that the /dev directory on the 4.9 fixit CD doesn't have them; maybe I should try to find the start of the vinum slices? During this afternoon I'll work on crafting a configuration file for all this, should I do a resetconfig before applying it? In any case, I'll definitely wish I can get a reassuring review of the config file before I risk it :o tks -- pica
