Hi, I tried to boot 5.3-BETA on my TM291 (Centrino, "hotpluggable" DVD/CDRW-Combo, bg2200 WLAN). It hangs after the first few lines of boot messages and has to be rebooted the hard way (press power-off for four seconds).. I began to try with 5.2.1 Release, several jp-snapshots, and finally these days 5.3-BETA and the AUG-27 snapshot from snapshots.se.freebsd.org. (4-stable doesn't recognice the DVD/CDRW-Combo.. it can't load the kernel, so I can't try there..) I typed the screen messages from the AUG-27 snapshot from both a "boot" and a "boot -v". (see below). Any help is very much appreciated.. Thanks very much, Robert --- "boot -v" screen messages --- cmdreg=0x0006, statreg=0x2090, cachelnsz=0 (dwords) lattimer=0x00 (0 ns), mingnt=0x00 (0 ns), maxlat=0x00 (0 ns) found-> vendor=0x8086, dev=0x3584, revid=0x02 bus=0, slot=0, func=1 class=08-80-00, hdrtype=0x00, mfdev=0 cmdreg=0x0006, statreg=0x0080, cachelnsz=0 (dwords) lattimer=0x00 (0ns), mingnt=0x00 (0ns), maxlat=0x00 (0 ns) found-> vendor=0x8086, dev=0x3585, revid=0x02 bus=0, slot=0, func=3 class=08-80-00, hdrtype=0x00, mfdev=1 cmdreg=0x0006, statreg=0x0080, cachelnsz=0 (dwords) lattimer=0x00 (0ns), mingnt=0x00 (0 ns), maxlat=0x00 (0 ns) map[10]: type 3, range 32, base b0000000, size 27, enabled map[14]: type 1, range 32, base f0000000, size 19, enabled map[18]: type 4, range 32, base 0000e000, size 3, enabled $PIR: 0:2 INTA routed to IRQ 11 found-> vendor=0x8086, dev=0x3582, revid=0x02 bus=0, slot=2, func=0 class=03-00-00, hdrtype=0x00, mfdev=1 cmdreg=0x0007, statreg=0x0090, cachelnsz=0 (dwords) lattimer=0x00 (0 ns), mingnt=0x00 (0 ns), maxlat=0x00 (0 ns) intpin=a, irq=11 powerspec 1 supports D0 D1 D3 current D0 map[10]: type 3, range 32, base 00000000, size 27, memory disabled --- "boot" screen messages --- GDB: no debug ports present KDB: debugger backends: ddb KDB: current backend: ddb Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
