My ancient Vaio PCG-C1XS is still cranking, running 4.10. :)

On an aside: said Vaio was demonstrating the same symptoms as your
current laptop.  I found that it's a bad battery.  If I remov the
battery completely, and just use AC, the laptop will run just
dandy...
