Hello, first of all, even if I do run a recent 6-stable, I do not know that this problem is due to the soundsystem update, I did not notice this problem before, but I'm not sure it wasn't there. The problem is that I can't change the volume of the pcm0 device (dsp0, mixer0, etc). The volume is constant, no matter which way I try to change it ('mixer', volume control in xmms, volume control in mplayer). Yes, mplayer is recompiled after upgrading -stable. The pcm1 device (built in soundcard) works normally. Info about the system: root@kg-quiet# uname -a FreeBSD kg-quiet.kg4.no 6.0-STABLE FreeBSD 6.0-STABLE #3: Sun Jan 8 20:22:06 CET 2006 root@kg-quiet.kg4.no:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/QUIET amd64 root@kg-quiet# cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Installed devices: pcm0: <Creative EMU10K1> at io 0xdf00 irq 21 kld snd_emu10k1 (4p/2r/0v channels duplex default) pcm1: <ATI IXP 400> at memory 0xfe029000 irq 17 kld snd_atiixp (1p/1r/0v channels duplex) root@kg-quiet# pciconf -lv | grep -A 4 pcm pcm1@pci0:20:5: class=0x040100 card=0x70931462 chip=0x43701002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'ATI Technologies Inc' class = multimedia subclass = audio hostb1@pci0:24:0: class=0x060000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x11001022 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00 -- pcm0@pci2:1:0: class=0x040100 card=0x00201102 chip=0x00021102 rev=0x05 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Creative Labs' device = 'EMU10000 Sound Blaster Live!
