Can you do a
# uname -a
# ldd /usr/local/diablo-jdk1.5.0/bin/java
# cat /etc/libmap.conf (if any)
?
Why don't you try the binary package of openjdk?
In my case (8.0-RELEASE-p2) openoffice.org-3.1.1 with openjdk6-b16_2 works fine.
Anyway, bear in mind that diablo requires COMPAT_FREEBSD7 to be compiled in your kernel. Is that the case with your system?
