There are some other "problems" (please note that i don't follow the -current nor -kernel lists) a) Who knows how to implement Kernel Mode Settings for this? b) Are KMS drivers desirable in FreeBSD? c) Is it in the roadmap for FreeBSD9 or 8.x? d) Anyone wants to do the work?
