How do you see this text in iso-8859-15 (download and cat test.txt)? http://user.lamaiziere.net/patrick/test.txt You should see "un œuf pour un €uro" I confirm that the DejaVu font displays well the euro and the oe french ligature. Well, I don't know where is your problem. It has always worked fine here, on the console and under X11. If it can help, locale -a ~$ locale -a | grep fr_FR fr_FR.ISO8859-1 fr_FR.ISO8859-15 fr_FR.UTF-8 Regards.
