With PC's, this is possible, I know. > But laptops, I have no idea. I have not yet seen a laptop where the GPU was "a module" that could be replaced easily. It's usually glued+soldered onto the mainboard, as it is not intended to be replaced. That kind of memory also doesn't come in sockets, so it's probably impossible to replace. The common solution is to replace the mainboard, which implies to replace the whole laptop. :-) Still it might be possible that such "modular laptop mainboards" do exist.
