Reason: FreeBSD's license, often criticized as a "rape me license", allows using, modifying and redistribution software based on FreeBSD without contributing back, or acknowledging that FreeBSD played a significant role. So maybe FreeBSD is the top of usage share (don't confuse with "market share", as this is a little bit different). It might run in millions, billions of devices, and nobody knows about it.
