Perhaps there are none for you, but this is an indication that your Gmane setup is read-only, and that you are still sending messages via e-mail. One potential negative consequence is that such a setup requires both an NNTP and an e-mail account to be fully working (read-write). I think you will achieve the same effect by submitting via SMTP alone. The fact that your T-bird adds e-mail addresses while replying means that it is not sending messages via NNTP. In order to troubleshoot why replying via NNTP-only (wihout any e-mail in the To: header) does not work for you, you may need to enable and examine the log file, according to: <https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging#Thunderbird_Logging> because T-Bird may be playing dirty and hiding error messages from the user, (which is one of the reasons I don't like it). Since you have both e-mail and NNTP accounts inside T-Bird, it may be using the wrong account for replies (e-mail instead of NNTP). Perhaps there is a way to select the correct account while replying, as well as to set it up by default.home | help
