I booted 8.0-current on a machine that was running 7 and the SATA drive came up as ad4 instead of ad8 (as it is detected in 7). This is the case was loading GENERIC. This is going to present a serious problem doing field upgrades as its expected that fstab will be the same. What is the reason for the change and is there any way to make it compatible with device detection in 7? Barney
