[-- Attachment #1 --] Hi, I'll second both Warner and Kyle. 1. Unconditionally add COMPAT_FREEBSDx to GENERIC when creating branch stable/(x+1). Avoids trouble with a base upgrade in place without upgrading other programs. 2. On -CURRENT, compat' breakage can and will happen. Documenting it should not be mandatory (best effort basis). People just need to add COMPAT_FREEBSDx as they see fit (if not upgrading anything). This should save us a non-negligible amount of time in doing support.
