ipfw is the most basic one to start with, and then ipfilter is your next
step. See /etc/rc.firewall for some examples.  Also, have a look through
the mailing list archives as there has been many useful threads on these
topics in the past.  the key words ipfw and ipfilter will yield a wealth of
information and starting points.
