Hi all, I meet a problem with some ATA tools (ataidle and smartmontool) and FreeBSD 6.1-PRERELEASE #10. The ATA device working great: $ atacontrol list ATA channel 0: Master: ad0 <IC35L040AVER07-0/ER4OA46A> ATA/ATAPI revision 5 Slave: no device present ATA channel 1: Master: acd0 <PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W2410A/1.02> ATA/ATAPI revision 0 Slave: no device present But when I want to use ataidle or smartmontools, I have error: $ ataidle -l Listing Devices (no device listed with ataidle) $ ataidle 0 0 Device Info: Could not get device information: is a device attached? $ smartctl -i /dev/ad0 smartctl version 5.33 [i386-portbld-freebsd6.0] Copyright (C) 2002-4 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ Smartctl: Device Read Identity Failed (not an ATA/ATAPI device) A mandatory SMART command failed: exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options. Is a FreeBSD 6.1 -PRERELEASE #10 bug ? Thanks, Olivier -- Olivier Cochard FreeNAS main developer http://www.freenas.org Skype: callto://ocochard
