I'm sort of inclined to say that the user-mode ppp is really the way
to go, and any attempts to improve ppp support in general would
probably be better directed there.  Having something that works
seamlessly for dial-on-demand, generates proper debugging information,
do proper integrated dialing and supports advanced features like
predictor-1 compression is so far superior to what's provided by
pppd that I can't see any reason to use anything else now.
