Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade the gcc compiler (using gcc11-2.6.3) on
FreeBSD 2.1.x so that I can compile a program that needs a
libg++.so.4.0 file (or FreeBSD 2.2)? I know that I need to upgrade to
FreeBSD 2.2, but for a program that needs to compile under FreeBSD 2.2
can't I skip having to upgrade FreeBSD by only upgrading the compiler?
Or is there more to it that I don't know?

Thanks,
Richard
