I don't have anything to compare with and I haven't done any benchmarks,
so take this with a grain of salt: my P2L97 with a P-II 300MHz on it &
256MB screams!

I don't need ISA slots -- I need PCI, and the P2L97 has 5 and an AGP. 
As for DIMMS, I never noticed, since 256MB is enough for me for now.
