On the DNS2 system I had to remove any refrence to the DNS1 system, I had to remove th DNS1 listing from resolv.conf. I also had to remove any refernce to DNS1 in /ect/hosts I still have the DNS1 listed as a host in the db.domain file so they can locate each other. I was unable to have them use each other as nameservers though. I believe that the problem is because both are running as primary namservers, I realize that this is an incorrect configuration but it is just temporary until the DNS1 system can be upgraded. Thanks for the reply Gary Landers Malte Lance wrote: > On 28-Jun-98 Gary Landers wrote: > > Im not sure I understand why the other wouldent work, but it is working now > > after 2 days of messing with it. > > Then give us an explanation what you think and we'll comment on it. > > Malte. > > > > > Gary Landers wrote: > > > >> Where does make local host get the ip address it puts in the > >> localhost.rev > > > > > > > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > > ---------------------------------- > E-Mail: Malte Lance <malte@webmore.com> > Date: 28-Jun-98 > Time: 11:45:17 > ---------------------------------- > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
