There is no discussion in the FBSD HANDBOOK about how to set up a simple "print server" (for printers remote to said host). I just did it today and I am sure that many others have done this, and some have probably have gone way beyond "simple". Would there be any interest in some documentation about this (ie; using lp=/dev/null and if=<script to process input and send to real printer>)? I did this for an ASCII to Postscript function we have at work that used to reside on an NT server which is apparently "suffering" from "computer Alhzheimer's disease" (very real!). -- [what I USED to be ...] ________________________________________________________________________ SIU.EDU - DNS Admin, Postmaster, SMTP Admin, Netnews Admin SIUCVMB.SIU.EDU - DNS Admin, Postmaster, SMTP Admin, Sr TCP/IP Sys Prog SIUCMVSA.SIU.EDU - DNS Admin, Postmaster, SMTP Admin, Sr TCP/IP Sys Prog SIUCVMB, SIUCMVSA- Senior RSCS, VTAM, NCP Systems Programmer Systems Admin - Solaris, AIX, FreeBSD, NetBSD LDAP Admin - FreeBSD, Solaris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
