Ive searched the mailing lists for a solution to my problem, and it seems that others have had the same, but anyways I keep getting the error: updatedb: locate database /var/tmp/locateh16323/_updatedb16321 is empty from my weekly script. It seem that /var/db/locate.database got clobbered. Now for some data about my system: FreeBSD slug.ceca.utc.edu 3.0CAM-19980806-SNAP FreeBSD 3.0CAM-19980806-SNAP #7: Thu Oct 8 15:00:32 EDT 1998 root@slug.ceca.utc.edu:/usr/src/sys/compile/MYKERNEL i386 Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Mounted on /dev/sd0s1a 992239 64717 848143 7% / /dev/sd0s1f 6923349 5073842 1295640 80% /usr /dev/sd0s1e 198399 6662 175866 4% /var /dev/sd1s1e 8609716 3790942 4129997 48% /vol1 procfs 4 4 0 100% /proc as you can see my file systems are no where near full...Ive manually tried to run /usr/libexec/locate.mklocatedb but I cant seem to get the parameters correct (i.e. whats the correct command line entry?) Ive deleted locate.database, ive done touch /var/db/locate.database...so for no go with anything Ive tried. if you Any help would be greatly appreciated either will work: mike-ward@utc.edu mward@slug.ceca.utc.edu To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
