[-- Attachment #1 --] I have recently just started using FreeBSD. And I am trying to build a custom kernel, and I have everything working, execpt the sounds. I have tried both the pcm0, and the snd0 settings. With the pcm0 setting I get only the sound from me through the microphone. I have an ESS1868, PnP 16-bit card. It is reconized fine in the kernel, but nothing happens in any programs for the sounds. Also, maybe someone could help me with getting my network working at a later time. Like I said I am just starting using this program. I want to take it slow to learn it the proper way. I have only been using it for 3 days now, and am teaching myself most of it. I have it setup to dual boot with Windows 98 (yuck, what a joke). I will get rid of it when I can get this all figured out and up the proper way. What do I have wrong? The sound card comes up with the settings of: DMA 1,0 8 Bit mode DMA N/A 16 Bit mode Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!!!!
