ABIT BE6 (bios version "pl" latest from ABIT), 500MHz Pentium III, 128MB

Using FreeBSD 4.0 (taken from cvsup4 on Tuesday 3/14/00)
The ata driver locks up when I access an ATA/66 drive

# fdisk /dev/ad6s1f
READ: command timeout resetting
ata3: resetting drives . . .

The system hangs at this point and must be power cycled.
The ad6 drive is a WD136AA.
but it also happens on the newer WD153BA drive.

If you need any more info or help, yell.

     Cy
