Questions:

    FreeBSD: 2.2.8
    Controller: 2940UW
    Attached is dmesg.out

The problem is that I am seeing the following msg:

      sd0(ahc:0:0): Recovered Error asc:5d,0
      field Replaceable unit:1, retries:4

This msg started appearing a couple weeks ago.
    Additionally, an intermittant slowdown also
started about the same time. E.g., sometimes
FreeBSD would take several times longer than
normal to boot. Also, when it did take longer
than normal to boot, certain operations would
    take longer than normal:

       "ls -l" may act normal
"cp myfile yourfile" may take longer

If somebody knows what the above msg is telling
me I would greatly appreciate knowing. I am
afraid that it is from the 2940UW ($$).

                                     Thanks,

                                     ursa@cris.com
