That was a MFC of Dan Eischen's changes to the threads library for signal
handling changes, performance enhancements (zero system call thread
switching), bug fixes, and "other good stuff".  Thread signal handling
was previously severely borken.  Read the commit logs for details.

Hopefully, this will get a mention in the RELNOTES.TXT....
