Ok, maybe I'm the one who is missing something, but what if I *want* a crypt() that stubbornly defaults to DES? The current situation gives me that opportunity. If you remove NODESCRYPTLINKS please provide a suitable substitute, then leave it alone. This is something that's changed several times in -Stable as well as -Current, and it's getting to be a pita.
