I doubt this has any thing to do with FreeBSD directly, but here's the problem: I recently acquired FreeBSD, and thought it would be a good idea to install it and do my learning on a separate spare machine. I had a recently retired P133 sitting around, and that was pressed into service. I installed FreeBSD on this machine, and since then, it has been difficult to boot up. When the machine is turned on, it whirrs the CD drive, the HD whirrs a bit, then stops. The signal light on the monitor doesn't come on, either. After any number of re-sets and re-starts, it will eventually work, the signal light goes on, and the boot up is completed. My guess is that it is a hardware problem completely unrelated to installing FreeBSD. I do not recall seeing this behavior in the past, on this or any other machine. Any ideas/clues/suggestions. etc?
