Has anyone read this article: http://www.sysadminmag.com/articles/2001/0107/0107a/0107a.htm "Which OS is Fastest for High-Performance Network Applications?" By Jeffrey b. Rothman and John Buckman Sys Admin July 2001 Volume 10 Number 7 I just finished reading the article and now I'm really confused. I was always under the impression that FreeBSD was a top performer compared to Linux, Win2000 and Solaris. The article suggests that FreeBSD is poor in terms of raw performance according to the tests performed in the article. I must say that the article does not take all factors such as stability and security into account. I may be starting a pretty ugly thread, but I'm interested in what other Sys Admins and FreeBSD users have to say based on real life experiences. - Scott To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
