I noticed today that the mozilla 1.1 source MD5 does not match that from 
the mozilla site and mirrors...

I fear the worst...  I heard you updated the MD5 ~20 seconds ago.... 
but did you diff the contents to make sure that 
http://www.openssh.com/txt/trojan.adv doesn't happen?  :)
