Before I implement any additional features, I'd like to make sure my 
current philosophy will work in the freebsd.org world.

Agreed - now, how do I find the person that would like to mentor me? 
Michael is probably the best person (based on the email chats I've had, 
and his involvment in things that are closely related to the work I 
would be doing).
