It works here pretty well too although I've started to get the occasional
kernel panic, seemingly at random:

Isn't da_quirk_table something to do with the scsi driver?  I don't actually have
a scsi card in this machine...  I've don't know what a PTD is either.

Has anyone else seen this or am I 'special'? :-)
