Subject:   SIOCFRENB: Invalid argument when attempt to stop Ipfirewall

I am attempting to stop Ipfirewall using ipf -D, but I keep getting the 
following error:
SIOCFRENB: Invalid argument

Could anyone give me a clue as to what the problem is?
