Subject:   Uk keyboard in gnome

System is 6.2-Stable as of 24th April, gnome was compiled, with no 
problems on 25th April.
Despite selecting the UK keyboard in system prefs (as user) I am still 
getting the US keyboard.
Any clues as to how to rectify this, cheers
