The thing is: with a LiveCD of openSUSE or Knoppix under stress conditions it stays at 79 degrees, out of the box. With FreeBSD 6.2 it worked, out of the box. With 7.0 since some BETA (as I recall, I am sorry, didn't pay attention which was my first try) it is overheating. But the fan is running under all three options. And sysctl dev.acpi_ibm reports rpm's around 3800 to 4400, just as for Linux. Regards, Johannes
