Actually, if the compile crashes out at different points, that's almost a sure sign of a hardware issue, most probably overheating. If you were just running the system as a network router before, that involves so little load that you wouldn't stress anything, but building world is a good stress test and marginal cooling will show symptoms like what you've described. -- -Chuck
