This is the only part of this thread that I'd like to comment on. :-) I don't agree with your statement above. While the originator's problem might be most quickly resolved by first checking for an application bug, the report is not worthless to the FreeBSD project, because it demonstrates a somewhat reproducible kernel panic. If the panic is not the result of flakey hardware and someone with VM clue takes an interest and the originator is willing to provide feedback and test patches, then the PR is useful to us, regardless of whether there's a bug in Diablo that needs to be fixed. The worst that could happen is that the PR be suspended with "Too hard to fix" and left for some future whizz kid to tackle. I don't expect to change your mind, since you've been arguing your point quite strongly, but I would like for the mailing list archives to show that your opinion on the matter is not representative of the entire project's mindshare. :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
