Setting set hint.ichss.0.disabled=1 on the loader prompt allows me to boot -- both my own kernel as well as the 9.1-RELEASE from CD. Solved... Annoying beyond belief, but solved. Now, if only I could figure out, why my network card (3COM's 3C556 Mini PCI) is not seen by the 9.1... It was working perfectly fine with 6.3 -- and still works with the FreeSBIE-2.0.1 -mi
