Just wanted to point out that anyway our crash is a Kernel panic crash and not a Mysqld crash. Platform is AMD64 so , i'm don't think it can be a problem of process size : > $ sudo -u mysql limits Resource limits (current): cputime infinity secs filesize infinity kB datasize 33554432 kB stacksize 524288 kB coredumpsize infinity kB memoryuse infinity kB memorylocked infinity kB maxprocesses 5547 openfiles 11095 sbsize infinity bytes vmemoryuse infinity kB > $ sysctl -a | fgrep kvm vm.kvm_free: 1159720960 vm.kvm_size: 2147479552 thx
