In fact, you need not specify these.
> [alex@~/study/internet_prog_3sfe217] javac HelloWorld.java
> [alex@~/study/internet_prog_3sfe217] java HelloWorld.class
All you need to run your HelloWorld is
java HelloWorld
The suffix '.class' is never needed.
