We have a machine (network backup server) that hits 85Mbits/sec on it ethernet. Would upgrading to a GigE interface improve performance very much? Does the Intel GigE card perform checksum generation? We're using 4.7. Is the Intel GigE NIC supported in this version of FreeBSD?
