What is the performance hit running as a virtual machine?  Some of the
software I run atop Win2K is pretty performance stressing (complicated
Photoshop, video editing).

Sure, why not? If the specific card is supported by both OSs, of
course.

Mind you, you might want to consider vm... something everybody
says is great. Then you could run NT/ME/xxx atop FreeBSD. Has
the side benefit of relegating the BSOD syndrome to a mere
inconvenience solved by restarting that VM.
