What is the performance hit running as a virtual machine? Mind you, you might want to consider vm... something everybody says is great. Then you could run NT/ME/xxx atop FreeBSD. Has the side benefit of relegating the BSOD syndrome to a mere inconvenience solved by restarting that VM.
