Subject:   recognizing different ne2000 derivatives

I have the eventual goal of coding a network driver, just as a learning
exercise, and have the following question.

Does the following code snippet from if_ed.c mean that we cannot mix ne2000
derivatives, if they each happen to require a different ed_probe_*() to be
recognized?

ed_probe(isa_dev)
	struct isa_device *isa_dev;
{
	int     nports;

	nports = ed_probe_WD80x3(isa_dev);
	if (nports)
		return (nports);

	nports = ed_probe_3Com(isa_dev);
	if (nports)
		return (nports);

	nports = ed_probe_Novell(isa_dev);
	if (nports)
		return (nports);

	nports = ed_probe_HP_pclanp(isa_dev);
	if (nports)
		return (nports);

	return (0);
}
