It means that /home isn't really a filesystem, which on a default system, it isn't: lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Apr 11 20:32 home@ -> /usr/home Dump dumps entire FSs, not directory heirarchies. WIth a default setup you want something like rdump 0auf host2:/dev/nrst0 /usr (note the use of a to use the entire tape.)
