Iust upgraded to 5.3BETA-7, and on the console as soon as the machine boots up, the above appears. Examining /usr/src/etc/etc.sparc64/ttys (and of course /etc/ttys), there indeed are lines ttyu0 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on secure ttyu1 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on secure However, devfs isn't creating ttyu[0|1] in /dev.
